C.C. & F.F. Keesler Keeps Gano Haulin'
When Bill Gano founded Gano's Heavy Hauling in 1977, Rogers lowboys were the trailers of choice for most of the successful contractors in his home state of New Jersey and there was little doubt in his mind that he would soon own one. Gano soon purchased an eight-year-old, 40-ton as the primary trailer in his fledgling business.
In 1980, Gano contracted with New Jersey's largest Komatsu distributor to move their equipment, including their largest excavators and loaders. Gano then added a 75-ton dropside to his fleet.
By 1983, working closely with Rogers' sales staff, Gano purchased a 50-ton modular trailer. He maximized the number of hauling configurations with a minimum investment by taking advantage of the detachable rear frame, interchangeable decks and detachable axles. Another 50-ton followed in 1984.
With reservation, Gano then sold his 15-year-old 40-ton, knowing full well that it still had a lot of life left in it.
In 1988, Gano sold his 75-ton for a $10,000 profit. "Rogers trailers are phenomenal at holding their value," he said. He immediately purchased a 100-ton I-beam modular trailer to move even heavier equipment.
Gano again added to his growing fleet, purchasing several production Croucher models noting that "the ease and adaptability of a flat deck ? makes it operator friendly ? you can move anything from a little roller to a 50-ton excavator," he said.
In 1997, he bought an interchangeable 100-ton dropside deck. Gano is currently adding a modular 55-ton Ultima model. Currently running 10 Rogers, Gano, working through his distributor, C.C. & F.F. Keesler Inc. has seen his investment pay off.
"They've been great at meeting my needs," he said.
